Hello children,
I hope that you are enjoying the Easter holidays and that, if you have been on our blog, you liked the photographs of some of the things that we enjoyed last half term.
As always you can post a blog update on here about how you are spending your time away from school and if you need any help with your homework (Miss Hindson’s children too of course!) you can ask on here as I regularly check our blog page. Happy Holidays!
 Miss  Bergin :-)

We enjoyed some road safety training from a Lollipop Man and some of us got to dress up in a reflective high visibility jacket to guide our friends across the road safely. The hedgehogs have gone into hibernation for now but go to the brand new ‘Tales of the Road’ website for more info and fun games to play and learn about road safety. http://talesoftheroad.direct.gov.uk/

To learn more about The Easter Story we visited our local Church. We experienced lots of different activities and enjoyed some singing to help us learn about The Holy Week for Christians, including a pebble activity for Palm Sunday, a last supper activity for Maundy Thursday, a quiet thought and some reflection time for Good Friday, and a story/song for Easter Sunday. This week is the most important festival in the Christian calender.
What is your favourite time of year?
Happy Easter from Year 1 :-)

We dressed up as our favourite story book characters to celebrate World Book Day. Even our teachers joined in! Some of us were heroes, some were villains, some were from fairytales, and some were from films. Whoever our character and whatever our role, we all shared the same view… reading is fun! What is your favourite reading book?

In Numeracy we explored fractions using pizza! We prepped, cooked and shared our pizza into EQUAL halves, quarters, and even sixths! Our favourite part was eating it up after all our hard work. We even had time to take some snaps for you to enjoy! We made cheese, tomatoe and pineapple pizza, with an optional topping of ham. What are your favourite toppings?

Hey there Miss Bergin’s class! I hope you dont mind us asking but what is happening in your class today? You all seem to be having a lot of fun and some of you are acting very strange. Perhaps you could send us a blog to let us know what you are all up to.

Hello Year 1B,

I am pleased to announce that we have a new classmate coming to join us!

She is Duncan’s friend from Miss Hindson’s class but although I’ve told her how lovely and friendly you all are,

she is  still feeling scared and too shy to tell me her name!

So I am turning to you for help! What do you think she is called?

Blog with your suggestions about our new Year 1B Brookburn buddy!

Miss Bergin.
